thank you to all of you who lifted up our trip to the refugee camps in the south. We had saw some amazing sights, had some interesting experiences, and hit a few brick walls along the way, yet learned lots. Our "plan" of action changed constantly throughout the trip due to various circumstances- so we learned about flexibility, patience and humility. Here are some of the things from the journey we can praise the Father for along with things to lift up for the future.
- Praise the Father for safe and uneventful travel! We had 3 days of driving on the way down, several extra hours of driving between the camps each day, and 2 long days of driving home. Despite the long bumpy roads- everyone in the groups kept their spirits up and between 3 cars we only had 2 flat tires the whole time.
- Praise Him that the shipment of supplies arrived on time and without problem.
- Praise Him that we were able to distribute school supplies to over 2500 children in one of the 5 refugee camps! The children were adorable and so excited to be receiving simple paper and pens! We hope that our brief time making eye contact, asking their names, and shaking their hands will remind them that they are valuable and not forgotten. Ask the Father to allow these children to excel in school and find a future away from conflict and turmoil.
- At the end of one day we had the opportunity to sit and chat with a few mothers and children. One woman who came with her severely disabled son heard the full message of HOPE. Ask that she will accept and share this truth with others. At that time and throughout the week our opportunities to have conversations with women were limited both because of time restrictions and always being among large crowds rather than with individuals.
- Please ask the Father for wisdom for our leadership about future projects in that area- both short term and long term. Ask for the Father to provide clear guidance as to where any efforts should be focused both in the refugee camps and among the local community in that southern area.
- We left school supplies in warehouses for 2 other camps because their students were (unexpectedly) on vacation during the time we were there. Most likely another group of my co-workers will return within the next month to finish the distribution. Ask that the right team of people will come together, the distribution will run smoothly and that they will have more opportunities to talk with individual men and women.

this week has been good to get back in the "normal" rhythm of life. At clinic on Wednesday, a woman who had presented with a horribly infected and swollen foot 3 months ago came back completely healed. She is from a distant countryside area; ask with us that the Father will receive the glory far and wide for this amazing miracle. One of my co-workers saw 2 men "go-swimming" in the last two weeks; a huge step for new brothers. Ask that they will remain strong and faithful in the midst of severe persecution they are already facing.

In other news, I'm very glad that Becca has returned and we now have a full house again! We all enjoyed valentine's candy together and even went to a restaurant where we received complementary red roses!
